"Her postpartum visits are also very important to us. Her care and love of the baby is so genuine. She is dedicated to make sure that breastfeeding is going well." Ying
Congratulations! Your new baby is home. Now what? Coming home with a new baby can be overwhelming. "Will I sleep again?", "Is my baby getting enough?", "How do I bathe my baby?", "Why won't my baby stop crying?"
As a postpartum doula my focus is on supporting parents so that they can best care for their newborn. I do not assume total care of the baby. Instead, I teach and encourage parents to interpret their baby's cues, and to trust their instincts in responding to their baby's needs. I know I have done my job well when parents no longer need me or need me less often.
As a doula I offer breastfeeding assistance, mother care, and emotional support. I teach newborn care and effective ways to soothe your baby. I offer light housekeeping and laundry, some meal preparation, and a shoulder on which to lean. In addition, I have information on the many resources available for families.
I invite you to contact me for more information. I look forward to speaking with you!
