Doula is an ancient
Greek work referring to a servant or slave. Today the term is used to
describe a woman skilled in providing care to a mother and her baby prenatally,
during labor and birth, and during the postpartum period.
In this capacity, doulas provide information and resources, physical comfort and emotional support as well as help in preserving memories of this most amazing and transformative time.
