Eastside Doula Care
My name is Debra Shelden.
I have 2 wonderful sons who are well on their way to being fine young men. I have been
a teacher of pervasively developmentally delayed and autistic people and I have
been an amateur actress since my teenage years. 
I am now a birth and postpartum doula, a childbirth educator, a lactation educator/specialist and a certified Happiest Baby on the Block educator. I received my doula training from the Seattle Midwifery School and am certified with DONA International. In addition, I am certified with PALS DOULAS. I trained at CEAS (Childbirth Education Association of Seattle) to become a childbirth educator and have taught childbirth education classes at Evergreen Hospital. I have also participated in an extensive training at Evergreen Hospital to become a lactation specialist/educator. I am the Washington State Representative for DONA International. In addition, I currently serve on the PALS DOULAS Board of Directors.
I come to this field with passion, compassion and a commitment to helping women and their families have a birth and postpartum experience that is one that they will remember with clarity and a sense of empowerment.
